Batesville Intermediate School principal Dr. Jere Schoettmer (right) said, "The kids are really excited" to celebrate Indiana's 200th. "It's really about three things -- people, places and events." Students will be downtown Sept. 17, leading rag doll and butter making and vintage games, such as stick and hoop and drop the handkerchief. "We've worked very hard to make the bicentennial come alive for our community -- and also for our kids!" With her is teacher Tricia McPherson.
