The Rev. Dave Johnston, one of four Indiana Bicentennial Torch Relay torchbearers in Batesville, opened the lunch with a prayer. He said, in part, "Anniversaries like this are a time to look back and look forward." Batesville Bicentennial Committee co-chair Carolyn Dieckmann reported, "Every time we needed something, somebody stepped up."
