The superintendent introduced speaker Bill Hammerle, Class of 1966 representative, who rose from U.S. Marines helicopter pilot to colonel, then developed communities in California. He advised students, "If you’re never scared, hurt of embarrassed, it means you’re not taking any chances … I guarantee you in 50 years you’ll be more disappointed in the things you didn’t do than the things you did."
