At St. John's United Church of Christ, Huntersville, Cemetery, VFW Chaplain Tom Williams noted, "Twelve (veterans) are buried here. These men gave their time and perhaps their lives for us – for our nation." They were Clemmens Bosse, John Bredewater, Henry Dallman, Michael Gartenman, John Hennekamp, Fred Holversheidt, Herman Johanning, William Klingworth, Fred Koch, Fred Koester, George Schein and Fred Wachmann.
